#100

I usually use song titles for my little bloggy. The fact that no one ever gets the lyrical references doesn't even bother me...much. Milestones are funny things, they make you think of time and what you've done with it. I have to say of all the things I have latched onto, I would put writing this blog up there with the best. It's nice to soak you're soul and then wring it out. It's a cleansing exercise. The fact that anyone wants to read it, really cracks me up.

About two years ago my pal, mechanic, confessor, guru, coach, Big Worm said to me:

"You gotta check out this blog I am reading."

He was talking about Jauncho's Big Ring Circus. I was sold two lines in, and immediately in awe of the guys chops. Good writing, funny and it's ALWAYS about the bike. Good stuff. A few months later I was asked (after begging for weeks) to be a guest writer. I haven't been that nervous since before I got to third base, but it was an awesome feeling to see something I wrote on the screen of his blog.

Here I am at the one hundredth post, and I all I can think about is how much fun I have had writing this silly little blog. Now I have people in my life that I don't even know. Ms. Moon, Magnum, Nichol, and (in my mind at least) a bunch of admiring lurkers that are too awed by my coolness to post a comment. Anyway thanks, and thanks to all the people I do know, that in spite of knowing what a galactic dork I am, read and post. Sinks, Worm, Slade, Squatch,....shout out to the homeys.

I saw Juancho today chewing coal and spitting diamonds, while standing (by choice) in the rain. He has lost 25 lbs and shows no sign of slowing down. I knew I was never going to be half the writer he is, but I never thought I would have to fear him being thinner and faster than me.

I couldn't be happier for him.

I'm a lucky little lurker every time I read your blog.

I got no need to lurk. I'm proud to be a card-carrying member of the Wrecking Ball fan club. You just keep getting better and better.
And who says no one gets your titles?
You rock.

You north Florida folks know how to write. Miss Maybelle, your latest entry was excellent, I should add. I came across y'all through the BRC (I agree with your comments about it) and it branched off from there.

Thanks, HWB! Keep writing! :)

"lucky little lurker"

That's gonna spin my wheels for a few days; just something delightful about that.

Happy 100, hope I look as good when I grow up.

Being in the computer industry, I am surprisingly naive in certain aspects - purposely so. i.e., I don't instant message anyone except my boss if she IM'ed me first. I'm not a Twitter, I only created a myspace account to click on a link a while back. And I never had read a blog until somebody sent me a link to the BRC back in July '05 and suggested I check it out. I was hooked and read it regularly and exclusively, blog-wise, for over a year. Then, because I read about it on the BRC, I added Jill's blog to my links. Now, there are about (8) blogs that I do a quick check on every day, most of which I found via commenters on the BRC. Of all the blogs I check everyday, the Wrecking Ball Blog is one of the most impressive. You're an excellent writer and I relate to your topics, trials and tribulations. You're consistent too, unlike the Worm, another good writer but whose posting inspirations come in spurts. And your posts often inspire my comments, unlike Magnum, another good writer. Actually, I am inspired to post on Magnum's WWC but obey the unspoken pact, no commenting on the WWC no matter how good and frequent the posts. Seriously, thanks for your first 100! As far as I’m concerned, you have made it into the big time bloggers!

At first I saw these blogs as a way to catch up with the happenings but they really help me understand the people I would like to call my friends. After a life time of hiding, it stuns me how you can post the details of your life right out here for the casual reader. I am so frightened I waited till your next post was up to post this hoping no one would read it. You got it going on WB.

Well, I am glad you came. I live in constant fear that all my stories will die with me. We're all just writing on the cave walls I guess.
