A Change Is Gonna Come

I rode a bicycle yesterday. After a serious "give it to me straight " talk with my neck saw bones. After being released by my physical therapist, after living in a cold dark place, I have a new plan. I am going to ride until it hurts too much. Then I am going to rest, and repeat step "A". That's all an Irish American Brother can do. I can't make my neck stop degenerating. I can't turn back the clock to when everything was wonderful, and my neck is as good now as it will ever be. So I will endeavor to persevere. Would I love to be the cyclist I was in April? Yes, but if big dreams were limousines ...we'd all have a ride. Ain't no use cryin' over what is and what may never be.....so for now I will ride (and promise not to talk like a blues guitarist ever again).

if wishes were limosines we would all have a ride- expect for all the people I would wish back onto their own flat feet. That's right, I'm hating even in wishland.

neck pain check- now let's go ride.

Glad you were able to ride. I didn't realize you were totally off the bike, which would cause most bike-lovin' folk to talk like a blues guitarist.

Thanks Nic, I have been riding a little. The pain just got crazy for a while and I was concerned (after some bad info from my PT) that I was doing further damage. I had a consult with my neurosurgeon and he gave my the thumbs up to ride. He thinks my body will adjust and hopefully the pain will subside. I am going to do the day by day thing and see what happens. (crosses fingers).

Oh I get it...I'm Irish so I have to dance a jig? Jeez man it's 2009! Irish people are just like everyone else, we don't dress like leprechauns and we don't dance jigs ya fekkin ijit!

You are not going to keep that last promise and I know it.
And I'm glad.

It feels good to ride and to have an ole dust up on the blog.
