We are trying to get plans together for a farewell dinner for Fat Lad and Mrs. Lad tonight. Nothing has been set in stone so.....read the title of the post.
Al is knackered (sp?) so we will just be eating/drinking. They need time to pack and some others have kids....so early may be better. In the interest of time, I think we should eat in the North Monroe area. That gives everyone easy access to I-10 and Fat Lads hotel.
We need some of the Juancho crew in attendance!
Please post your ideas here for all to read, and please be as funny and sarcastic as you like.....
BASTARDS!!!!!

Is Julie's Place still there? Too swanky? MoMo's at Market Square? Early is good. I have to work security when the trolley shows up for First Friday at this place (shameless promo alert):
humiditygallery.com
which, by the way, is close to MoMo's and a great way to end the evening.
WB, I assume you also got the email by now, but it looks like our traveling duo has been robbed of riding time by the ever helpful airline. There departure time has been moved up so early, that trying to ride, get cleaned up and eat, and then packed in time to actually sleep before heading to the airport, has been severely limited. So, it looks like they are interested in the dinner and drinks idea, and the southside sandfest will have to await for their return. Perhaps next year...
As for dinner plans, I'm wide open, just let me know the consensus and save me a seat.
We need specific times and locales People!
Knackered! KNACKERED! You wish, I've been sandbagging along, the constant references to dying on my arse because of the heat were just a cunning ruse to pull all of your legs off this afternoon ;)
But seriously we are gutted about not riding again but the timetable just doesn't fit everything in. When we come back it will be for longer so we don't have to rush round so much. The hurried lifestyle just doesn't seem to fit here
Fat Lad
What, no Munson?! The Spirit of the Forest will be angered and we will have drought for another seven years.
I'm good for dinner, though I have no ideas regarding where on the north side.
I guess I do like the Vietnamese restaurant in the TJ Max plaza; I think it's called "Far East" and features decent sushi and big fat bottomless noodle bowls filled with scrumptuous shit, like a Campbell's soup moment turned into an endurance sport. They can put tables together and the atmosphere is casual and orientishly provincial. Twelve bucks will make your belly slosh.
Still, it's not dark and velvety in there and I don't think there's a statue, a fountain, or a giant, black-lighted fish tank on the premises, so we could probably do better in the atmosphere department.
I thought gutted meant tired...no offence mate! I guess gutted means sad? Geez, I wish you bastards would speak english...Your in America!
The weather's great. Go to San Miguel (North Monroe), sit outside, and drink lots of margaritas.
Mr and Mrs. Sinks have made arrangements for the kiddies and plan to join this historic virtual meets reality gathering!
Early is good for us too.
The deck at Paradise is an option as is the Chez P veranda.
I wouldn't go near P-dise on a Friday...too many rabid divorcee's. I was personally hoping for something not to expensive where we can be a little loud if we feel like it. So far I am feeling anything Mexican and the Thai place sounds good as well. I will be out of pocket for the next two hours. Fight it out amongst yourselves...
I vote for any outside plan, and margaritas do sound tasty.
Both San Miguel and El Jalisco offer outside seating, good Mexican food, and Margaritas. They both are also convenient to Al and Sarah's hotel.
Okay someone has to make the call so El Jalisoc it is! Dammit! What time is good for everyone?
6:30P.M. too early?
Worm.....shut up!
I meant El Jalisco.
6:30 works for us.
Okay it's getting late and I'm going to call this auction closed. El Jalisco at 6:30pm.. It's on North Monroe by Hooters. See you all there. thanks for bidding!
See you all at 6.30
How about a head count, so we can get an idea of how of how large a table we may need.
I'm in at 6:30, probably flying solo.
S.M.
1 more for El Jalisco. I may have to cut out a bit early.
wow, hope that was a good dinner, it was definitely a freaky run-up.
sounds as though you guys throw down a nice welcome and send-off; maybe I'll visit someday.
Am I too late for dinner? Who are Al and Sarah?
